Sexual Knowledge and Sexual Attitude in Female College Students

Abstract

|
Purpose : The purpose of this study was to measure knowledge and attitude of sex among female students in college.
Methods : The subjects of this study were 259 female students of college. The data were collected from April to May 2006 by using a structured questionnaire.
Results : The respondents" score of sexual knowledge was relatively high. The respondents" score of sexual attitude was relatively neutral. There were significant difference in the sexual knowledge depending upon grade, major and subjective sexual knowledge. There were significant difference in the sexual attitude depending upon religion, experience of sexual intercourse, subjective sexual attitude, and subjective sexual knowledge. There was a positive correlation between sexual knowledge and sexual attitude.
Conclusion : Through an appropriate education and concerns by parents for female students of college, they will establish their desirable value of sex and definite their sexual attitude.
